Three Mashburn projects receive Golden Nail Award

Columbia, S.C.— On Wednesday, February 20th, Mashburn Construction celebrated three of their recent projects being recognized at the 5th Annual Columbia Impact Awards hosted by the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Experience Columbia SC, Hall’s Chophouse, and Hotel Trundle are three of the five to receive the Golden Nail Award; one of the five areas of recognition.

The Golden Nail Award is bestowed upon businesses or property owners for exemplary contributions to the physical character of the greater Midlands region through cosmetic or commercial means such as restoration of a façade, historic building, or re-purposing of a blighted space during the previous calendar year.

Mashburn completed Hotel Trundle, also known as Powell, Western Auto and Rose Talbert buildings (1519 Sumter Street; 1222 and 1224 Taylor Street) in April 2018. This unique project encompassed upfits for two tenants with various challenges coming from a blighted building. Shortly thereafter in June of 2018, the upfit for Experience Columbia SC was completed at the busy intersection of Gervais and Lincoln Streets. By December 2018, Mashburn also completed Hall’s Chophouse – the much anticipated high-end steakhouse at the corner of Main and Gervais Streets.

“Mashburn is always proud to contribute to the growth and improvement of downtown Columbia and will apply every effort possible to improve quality of life while also contributing to the ‘cool factor’ we see going on every day in the Capital City,” says President, Lee Mashburn.

Mashburn Construction also recently celebrated the completion of 1321 Lofts at 1321 Lady Street and continues work within the Central Business District of Columbia and throughout the state to “build better communities” as part of their company-wide vision.
